Shinrai ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. We operate in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

We collect personal information when you subscribe to a plan, submit a support ticket, or contact us. This includes:
- Contact details: your name and email address.
- Business information: your Shopify store URL and business name.
- Support ticket content: descriptions of issues, page URLs, and any other information you provide when submitting a ticket.
- Payment information: processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
- Usage data: basic analytics on how our website is used (page views, referral sources). No personally identifiable information is collected at this level.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Deliver and manage your subscription and support services.
- Respond to support tickets and communicate about your work.
- Process payments and manage billing via Stripe.
- Send service-related emails (receipts, ticket updates, plan notifications).
- Improve our services and website.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Third-party services
We use the following trusted third-party services to operate Shinrai:
- Stripe: payment processing and subscription management. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
- Google Workspace: email (hello@shinrai.digital, support@shinrai.digital). Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Slack: for Growth plan customers who opt in to Slack support. Slack's privacy policy is available at slack.com/privacy-policy.
5. Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period after cancellation for accounting and legal purposes. Support ticket content is retained for the duration of your subscription and up to 12 months after cancellation. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see section 7).
6. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant. Email communications are handled via Google Workspace.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your personal information.
- Opt out of any non-essential communications.

8. Cookies
Our website uses minimal cookies necessary for functionality. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. Third-party services (such as Stripe) may set their own cookies during the payment process.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
